Vegetarian food was never so delicious (or easy to prepare!)

It tastes surprisingly like meat, but it’s not! Lustice is a healthy, sustainable, but most of all tasty alternative which can be found in the frozen food section of your supermarket.

Take a bite and you will immediately recognize the same structure and sensation you would expect from meat, which is exactly where Lustice sets itself apart from all other meat replacers. Lustice comes in 3 delicious, healthy varieties. Lustice Basic provides the ideal base for endless variations. Prefer a more convenient, ready to use product? Then Lustice Orient or Lustice Italian are ideal for you. Both are complete meals which can be prepared in a matter of minutes.  Cooking with Lustice is extremely simple: pour the contents of the package directly into your wok or pan and hey presto! Furthermore, Lustice is suitable for any diet, such as vegan or gluten free.

But Why?
It appears to be becoming a trend. People are eating less and less meat or becoming completely vegetarian. The predominant reason for this is the consumer’s consideration for the wellbeing of animals. Eating meat and some form of animal suffering are, obviously, inseparable.  Also, many people choose to stop eating meat as a conscious defiance of the bio industry and its treatment of animals. Many of those who are not able to entirely cut out meat, or do not want to do so, will at least be cutting down their consumption or looking for more animal friendly alternatives. What a lot of people are not aware of, however, is that there are many more grounds to avoid eating meat. How about, for example the ecological impact? Let me explain.

With every steak or chop, you are unwittingly destroying a part of nature. In order to keep feeding the world meat, there will have to be sufficient grazing for all the herds of animals, resulting in more and more deforestation. Only a few decades ago, 40% of the world’s rainforests were demolished purely for the creation of grazing grounds for farmers and their stock. Furthermore, a fact not many people are aware of, is that it is the poorer countries who, for economical reasons, are forced to grow feed for our animals thereby leaving them with no land on which to grow their own crops, thus not being able to sustain themselves. One final fact – every 500 grams of meat, requires the use of about 11,250 litres of water, yet another huge ecological impact! There is far less water required to feed a vegetarian for a year than to feed a carnivore for a month.

Are none of these issues of concern to you? Then how about your own health? Often we hear people say that meat contains vital substances that your body needs to function properly. To a degree this is true, but who says that we can only get these from meat? A vegetarian has to be slightly more conscientious in composing his or her meal. But proteins, Vitamin B and for example iron can be found in plenty of other products. Eat whole grain bread, green vegetables, nuts and legume and you’ve easily reached your daily iron quota. For your daily Vitamin B intake, try , milk, rice, nuts and.... LUSTICE!

Other than the substantial benefits for your health a meat free diet also has a positive effect on the  environment AND on the well being of the animals around us. Outside of a strong and healthy body, many vegetarians also consider their mental health to improve with their diet, making it undeniably the right way forward!
